No Miracles — Just Consistency

62-year-old woman doing her skincare routine at home, showing real skin care with no filters.

How I take care of myself, inside and out (no promises, no filters)

I hardly ever wear makeup. But I do take care of myself.

Not to look younger —but to feel good in my own skin.

I’ve always looked after myself, but after turning 50 I understood something important: skin doesn’t forgive time. Whether you care for it or not, it keeps aging. What changes is how it ages. With more light and tone… or dull and dry.

I don’t believe in miracles.I believe in habits. And in consistency.

This isn’t a beauty post. It’s simply how I take care of myself, inside and out, after many years of trial, error, and learning.

My real routine (after years of adaptation)

I didn’t start any of this overnight. My skin went through a long adaptation process. I began with low concentrations, combined different serums — sometimes together, sometimes separately — and learned to stop when something didn’t suit me.

Getting to the percentages I use now took time and patience.

And there’s one detail that makes a real difference for me: between one serum and the next, I always wait a couple of minutes. I don’t rush. I let the previous product absorb fully and give my skin time to relax before applying the next one. No one taught me this — I learned it over the years.

Skin isn’t trained by force. It’s educated through consistency.

Important: this is my routine after many years of adaptation. If you’re just starting, don’t copy these percentages. Begin with very low concentrations or consult a professional. Skin needs time — there are no shortcuts.

Morning

I always start with double cleansing: first a gentle cleanser, then micellar water.

Once the toner has absorbed, I apply my serums:

– Vitamin C (20%)

– DMAE (10%)

– Multi-peptides with hyaluronic acid

– Ceramides

For the eye area, I use caffeine 5% with EGCG to help with dark circles.

Then moisturizer.

And always, every single day of the year: SPF50+ sunscreen. That one is non-negotiable.

Evening (I rotate routines)

I don’t do the same thing every night. Skin needs rest and variation.

Monday and Friday

After double cleansing:

– Red LED mask (20 minutes)

– Radiofrequency (about 10 minutes, using pure aloe vera as conductive gel)

Then I rinse off the gel with cold water, dry my skin well, and apply:

– DMAE

– Peptides

– Moisturizer

Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday

– Red LED mask (20 minutes)

– Retinol 5%

I wait about 15 minutes, then apply moisturizer.

Wednesday and Saturday

– Glycolic acid 7%

– 15 minutes later, moisturizer

I don’t use masks on these days because the routine already contains enough active ingredients. Only if my skin feels tight do I apply a repairing mask (without acids) and leave it on overnight instead of moisturizer. When that happens, it’s usually on Tuesdays or Sundays.

The neck and décolletage should receive the same treatment.

At night, I use specific multi-peptides for the eye contour. It’s a delicate area, and I prefer to treat it separately.

Care from the inside

For more than ten years, I’ve also supported my routine with nutricosmetics: magnesium, hyaluronic acid, and marine collagen — always respecting the daily dose recommended by the manufacturer. It’s not magic. It’s consistency.

I also take care of my diet. My base is a mix of Mediterranean, Asian, and vegetarian eating, with the occasional weekly treat and very little alcohol.

And I move my body. I walk almost every day and combine strength training, rowing, and swimming three to four times a week. Not for aesthetics, but because the body responds… and so does the skin.

Everything adds up.

Skin doesn’t stop aging. What changes is how it does.

It’s not about taking years away. It’s about having light.

I hardly ever wear makeup. But I take care of myself.

And over time, it shows.
