Talking about death helped me embrace life

Thoughtful mature woman looking at the sea at sunset, reflecting on life and aging

Why we waste time fearing what we cannot control

I believe this is a reflection that can help people think about their own lives.

When people think about death, they feel fear.

Fear of the unknown.Fear of pain.

Fear of emptiness.

But they often don’t realize something very simple:

Death is something we cannot control.

And when we keep worrying about something we cannot control, we slowly stop living the life that is happening right now.

That is what happened to me.

I spent time thinking about things that might happen one day.

And while I was thinking about them, life was passing.

Not because death was close. But because fear was taking up space.

Then I understood something important.

I cannot control when death will come.

I cannot control how it will happen.

But I can control how I live today.

And that changed everything.

I stopped fighting the idea of death.

And I started paying attention to my life.

I looked at everything I had lived.

The good moments.

The difficult ones.

The mistakes.

The lessons.

And I realized that all of it was necessary.

To be who I am today, I had to live that life.

There were no shortcuts.

No wasted years.

That is why now I feel different.

Not because I have no fear.

But because I understand that fear should not decide how I live.

Death will arrive when it has to arrive.

But life is happening now.

And maybe that is the only thing we really need to remember.

If you think this might help someone, feel free to share it.
